Happy Hunting with the Garmin 220

February 14th, 2010

Last time I went hunting I went with a buddy of mine, and he had this really cool system that he used to keep track of his three dogs as well as my dog! It is the Garmin 220 GPS tracking system. Each controller can track up to 10 dogs thanks to the DC-30 independent collars. The handheld controller has a 7-mile range, and the easy to read display tells you if your dog is running or pointing. Even more amazing, the display can show up to three dogs’ locations relative to each other and to you. The system allows you to travel through the fields in harmony with your dogs instead of in a chaotic whirlwind, and all with a single controller. Needless to say, it makes for a great day of hunting!

Where to Find Cheap Hunting Dog Supplies

January 21st, 2010

I believe that there will always be cheaper options for anything, if you keep trying and trying and devote some time to research. Yes, research is the key to getting products and services at cheaper costs, including hunting dog supplies. Because I don’t like to wander around shopping centers aimlessly, I window-shopped instead on the internet. I searched for “cheap hunting dog supplies” and there were indeed a few sites that will offer hunting dog supplies at a cheaper price. I also searched for “hunting dog supplies discounted” and I found that some stores also offer promotional sales, or end-of-season sale. This way, I can get the equipment I want at a reduced price though of course I had to wait some time for it. But that was okay because this way, I can buy more things for my dog.

Hunting Dogs in Great Form

January 13th, 2010

I’ve always liked the physique of animals that seem to exude strength and confidence, such as a horse. You see I am a self-declared artist and I like to paint animals that stand as if they own the world. Horses have usually been my subject but lately I have been eyeing hunting dogs, particularly hounds. These hunting dogs stand up as if they are superior above everything else, probably including their fellow hunting dogs, and they make for a good portrait. Although, I find it hard to get a good shot of hunting dogs standing still as they are usually on the go. While there are very good images of hunting dogs that can be found on the internet, I’d like to take a shot of my own and turn it into a painting.
